For a bit there, I thought I’d stay on that first map while I continued my learning journey, but then it occurred to me: repetition is a key factor in learning. So I decided to make a new map. This time I shied away from low-poly assets, but it’s still using Unity’s Universal Rended Pipeline. (I assume the graphics would be better with HDRP but it supports fewer devices. Besides, if photorealism was the goal, I’d be using Unreal!) It felt like a positive sign to me that working in Unity is starting to feel a little more natural. Of course the thousands of options are still pretty overwhelming, but progress is what matters.
